Sharing our Faith * Building our Family in Christ

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church

the Gospel of St. John he sums up his message in the words, “these things are written that you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that in believing you may have life in his name.”

Faith Lutheran began in 1949 as a church member of the English District-The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and still functions as such today.  The first Sunday School classes were held just three short months later.  Today, Faith Lutheran Church and School continues to hold regular services, bible studies, and Sunday school.

Missouri Synod

We welcome you in the name of our Lord and are thankful that you have given us this opportunity to reach out to you in the warm spirit of Christ.  We are here as His servants.  Our hearts are open, our church door is open and we invite you to come and visit with us.  We invite you to call upon us if we can be of service to you and your family.

We welcome you into the life of our Lord.  Life is the word that Christ himself most frequently used to describe his mission.  In

Text Box: ANNOUNCEMENTS

A Great Way to Help Others: There are boxes at church entrances to gather items of nonperishable food such as spaghetti, canned or boxed items. These items are needed by faith-based Springboard Homes in Tucson, who help rehabilitate young women. Our Faith LWML ;will assemble these items at their March 9 Bible study/meeting and deliver them to Springboard. Cash donations are accepted gratefully (checks made payable to LWML).

We will be starting a new topic for Bible Study on Sunday; “This We Believe”, Missouri Synod’s position on modern day topics and issues.

Anyone interested in new member classes or Lutheran theology should contact Pastor Mavis or call the church office.

Come to Sunday School at 10:15 am. Sunday School teaches the Bible, the comforting message of God which gives peace and purpose to children, and adults, too. Sunday School prepares one better to face the problems of life.

The Parish Education Committee is looking for more people to help with Sunday school as teachers and helpers. If you can help please contact Katie Brech. Any and all help is appreciated!

The sign up sheet for 2010 bulletin covers is in the Parish Hall. If you would like to sponsor a bulletin cover for a special occasion, please sign your name on the list. The cost is still $15 per Sunday. It’s a wonderful way to remember family members, friends and special occasions.

The Elders are looking for people who would like to help read for any and all services. Please call the church office if you would like to volunteer.

The Evangelism Committee would like to celebrate on a monthly basis everyone’s baptismal birthday. If you would like to be included please give the church office or Jan Hause your baptism date.

Contact Mary if you would like to bring snacks or donate money for snacks for after Sunday morning service.

LUTHERAN CHURCH EXTENSION FUND

The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) uses your investment dollars to help build Lutheran Churches and Schools, as well as provide housing for pastors and teachers.  You can be part of this ministry by investing with LCEF, and as your money grows, it is used to help grow God’s kingdom.  See your congregation representatives Jane and Dale Schlak today, or call 1-800-THE-LCEF for more information.

SAFE (Southern Arizona Foundation for Education) is a foundation established to grant scholarships to children attending Missouri Synod Lutheran schools in Southern Arizona.  This tax credit organization is a great benefit to our school.  By contributing to SAFE you help keep tuition affordable which advances our mission to provide a Christian education to the children in our community.  By reallocating your tax money to SAFE-Lutheran, you will be blessed with the knowledge that you are helping a child learn about Jesus Christ as their Savior, while also receiving an excellent education.

Luke 13:1-9

An Arizona taxpayer can give up to $1,000 if filing jointly or $500 if filing singly, to SAFE-Lutheran.  State statutes allow the donation amount to be returned to you, at the time of tax filing, providing you have a state tax liability, so contributing costs you nothing!  Donations do not have to be made at one time.  We encourage you to make a monthly contribution of any amount up to the limit for tax purposes.  New options for donating through payroll deductions, or via Paypal are now available.

Forms and more information are available online at www.safelutheran.org, or in the school and church offices.  Contact Elaine at 419-2210 if you have questions.
